Our court has unfortunately seen a recent increase in scams targeting citizens under the guise of jury duty enforcement. Federal courts and officials, including US Marshals, federal judges, and court staff, will never threaten to arrest you or demand sensitive personal or financial information.
If you receive a call or text claiming that there is an arrest warrant or you owe money for missing jury duty, and the caller/texter pressures you to make a payment, do not provide any personal information (such as your Social Security number or credit card details). Hang up immediately and block the number.
Report any suspicious calls or texts to the FBI Field Office at 415-553-7400 or the Federal Trade Commission. To verify whether contact from our jury office is authentic, please reach out to us—refer to our contact page or chat with us here.
