Audio Streaming Pilot Program
The Northern District of California is one of thirteen district courts that has been selected to participate in a District Court Audio Streaming Pilot Program. Under the pilot program, the court, with the consent of the parties, will livestream audio of certain civil proceedings involving matters of public interest. Trials and other proceedings that involve live witness testimony or any sealed, confidential, or classified materials are excluded from the pilot.
Hearings will be streamed live on the court’s YouTube channel and are only available during the court proceeding.

The Judicial Conference of the United States (JCUS), the national policy-making body for the federal courts, has authorized this pilot program. The pilot is administered by the JCUS Court Administration and Case Management (CACM) Committee and the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO), and will be used to study the feasibility of livestreaming audio of district court civil proceedings. Visit the JCUS Audio Streaming Pilot Page for more information about the pilot program, official guidelines, and links to other participating pilot courts.
