The Administrative Office of the United States Courts has provided notice of serious security vulnerabilities in the CM/ECF system and has called upon courts to implement new security procedures to protect Highly Sensitive Documents (HSDs).
The Northern District of California has defined HSDs as only a subset of sealed documents filed by the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office. There will be no official changes to court procedure, except with respect to U.S. Attorney’s Office filings.
